BLUE CRUISE / CABIN CHARTER

When do the cabin cruises depart?
Farout run cabin cruise departures almost every day of the week from the end of April until the end of October, departing from your choice of either Olympos or Fethiye. When you book online with our Booking Manager system you will receive a pre-departure pack full of useful information about your upcoming cruise. Please refer to this booklet or read below for further information.

Do I need to book ahead?
Although most guide books still recommend turning up at the harbour and booking directly on the day, these circumstances have since changed and Farout highly recommends booking in advance. Over the last few years these cruises have tremendously gained popularity and most people will find that when trying to book at the last minute, the cruises are already sold out. Booking ahead of time can also mean that there will be savings available on not just the cruises, but also the excursion activites. ''Please note that in peak season we are sometimes fully booked two to three weeks ahead of departure, so booking prior to peak season is essential''

What are the sleeping arrangements onboard?
When you are booking with Farout it helps us if you note whether you would prefer a twin, double or shared cabin. Depending on the boat, the cabin layouts may vary. Some of our boats only have double rooms, while others may have a mix of doubles, twins or even triples with 1 large double bed and 1 single bunk. Some boats also have quad cabins. We will always try to accommodate your cabin request, but at times this is out of Farout's control with the boat that maybe scheduled to leave on the day of your cruise. We do however guarantee that all cabins have a private bathroom and hot shower. If you are travelling solo then you will share a cabin with another solo traveller on the day unless the boat isn’t full. For anyone who wants their own private cabin this is possible, however you will have to pay single supplement. Keep in mind that during peak summer cruising months, most people choose to sleep on the deck under the stars rather than their cabins!

Where are the other passengers from?
The majority of our customers are from English speaking countries; however we also get guests from other European and Asian countries. There is no dominant nation that joins us on our cruises these days; we generally have people from all over the world.

Can I specifically book a cabin cruises as a quiet relaxing trip or a party boat?
When passengers are booking, Farout do not ask about these specific details, nor do we ask ages or demographics. Because of this, you do not know who you will be cruising with until the morning of departure. Customers create the atmosphere so it all depends on who is on the Gulet with you. Our crew will try to make it work for everyone but we cannot guarantee whether it will be a quiet or party boat. Farout has departures every day, some days more than 1 or 2 Gulets will be leaving, so we take into consideration age groups and any kind of special requests when allocating people to a boat.

How many crew members will be on the trip?
At most times there are three crew members on each Gulet. There will be a Captain, a Chef and a Skipper. Depending on the conditions and size of the Gulet, there may be one less or one extra crew member on board.

Will the crew speak English?
For the reason that English is not a mother-tongue language for most people in Turkey, you can expect that not every member of the crew will be perfectly fluent in English, it will be however, rare that even one crew member cannot speak English. There is no need to worry about communication onboard for this reason.

What do I need to bring onboard?
Please note that when you get your confirmation ticket, attached will be a pre-departure information pack. This gives you important information about your upcoming cruise, what is included, and what is not included, so please make sure you read this before departure so you have no surprises on the day!

Essential packing list:
1) Your passports for check in.
2) Towels. Farout does NOT provide bath or swimming towels.
3) Personal items such as sun block and after sun lotion, mosquito repellent, seasickness tablets, sunglasses, swimsuit, camera, shoes for when going ashore and to visit the sites. Although please note - shoes are NOT allowed to be worn on the boat.
4) We don't sell cigarettes or snacks such as chocolate and crisps etc. onboard, so you are welcome to bring some along with you. But also note that you can stock up along the way at some of the harbours you pull into.
Please note: You can NOT bring any drinks on board, including water (see below for more information).

  • What's included?
Accommodation in cabin with private bathroom, 3 meals a day plus afternoon tea, all Gulet taxes, port fees and charges plus harbour departure paperwork, bed linen.

  • What's not included?
Drinks, entrance fees, additional excursions like water sports or other offered activities, tips for crew, bath and swimming towels, snacks.

Do you provide towels?
Please note, towels are NOT provided on board for the bathroom OR for swimming, so please bring your own. You will need one for the bathroom and we also ask you bring another towel or light sarong to use on the sun beds when sunbathing and lying down. The use of a sarong helps protect them from the sunscreen and salt on your body.

Am I allowed to bring my own drinks onboard?
The short answer to this is no. This also includes bringing your own water. Farout asks you to please not bring any drinks onboard. All drinks are sold onboard at reasonable prices. For people found with their own drinks on board, it will be the Captains discretion as to whether he will charge you for those or confiscate them and return them at the end of the trip.

Is there snorkeling gear and water sport equipment on the Gulet?
Yes, most of our boats will provide snorkeling equipment and some water sport flotation devices. All this equipment will vary from boat to boat and you will share it among your other passengers. So if you are a keen snorkeler or you want a floatable sunbed at every swimming stop along the way, it is advised you bring along your own gear.

Is there anywhere that I can charge my camera, phone or other electrical items on the Gulet?
All Gulets will have normal power plugs with 12W or 24W power which is not enough to charge large electrical items like laptops or to use items such as hair dryers or hair straighteners. However, it is sufficient enough to charge your phone, iPod or camera battery. When our Gulets are in harbour you will have access to 220W, so this is the best time to charge larger items should you need to. Some of our Gulets are equipped with generators which would allow you to charge at 220W, however this is only turned on at specific times, we will let you know onboard whenever the generator is turned on. Some other Gulets run purely on solar power.

Do the Gulets have air-conditioning?
All of our Gulets are standard Turkish Gulets and are NOT air-conditioned. This is why you will find most people will sleep on deck, under the stars throughout the hotter summer months.

What if I am on a special diet? Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
If you have special dietary requirements e.g. vegetarian, vegan or some kind of allergy, we will make every endeavor to cater for your specific needs. Please email us ahead of your cruise so we can mark this against your booking. We also advise you remind the crew member who is checking you into the Gulet, so they can advise the chef on the spot.

Are all transfers included?
For the Olympos to Fethiye cruise you will be transferred from Olympos to Demre as part of your cruise. On arrival to Fethiye, no transfers are provided. For Fethiye to Olympos cruises we will collect you from all centrally located hotels in Fethiye (Calis, Oludeniz, Hisaronu and Ovacik not included) and then onto Olympos at the end of the cruise. No other transfers are included, however, if you would like to organise special pick up and drop off, please speak to a member of the Farout crew prior to your cruise.

Is there WiFi onboard?
At this point in time none of our gulets come equipped with WiFi. You will have the opportunity to reconnect at certain destinations along the way, otherwise it is time to disconnect from the cyber world, relax and enjoy the cruise without the interruption of Facebook, Instagram and emails.

Do you accept credit card payments?
All cruise balances, optional activities and bar tabs must be paid in cash. No credit card payments are accepted.

LAND TOURS

What is the difference between the door to door and semi door to door tours?
A full door-to-door service is when you will be picked up from your hotel and dropped to the doorstep of your next accommodation. Sometimes, we are unable to do this with our own bus services, so you will be required to use the public bus system, which will still be pre-organised for you. If this is the case, we call this service semi door to door.

What do I do with my itinerary?
If you have booked a longer tour than 1 day you will receive an itinerary from an Farout staff member. This itinerary is a breakdown of your tour day by day and details of everything from pick up times, location for pick up, accommodation booked and what is included in your day. It is important that once you have that itinerary you read it and make yourself familiar with the details. As this will all be pre booked for you, you will not need to show your itinerary to people along the way, but it will do no harm to keep it with you anyway.

Who do I contact if I have any questions along the way?
It is best that you make sure you are comfortable with your itinerary before departure. However, should you need to liaise with the Farout team at any point of your tour or trip in, Turkey you can contact us via several methods; on top of your itinerary you will find our office number, a 24 hour mobile number and also our fax. We are also online at MSN chat or Skype. Please note that the mobile number on your itinerary is a 24 hour number, so please make sure in any case of emergency day or night that you do call that number. Please visit the ‘contact us’ section on this website to see all our confirmed contact details.
